Would you like to be part of our volunteer team during the State of Fashion Biennial 2026 | Available to Promise? Do you enjoy welcoming visitors and creating a warm, hospitable atmosphere in the Eusebiuskerk in Arnhem? Then sign up now as a volunteer.
State of Fashion is a platform for presenting alternatives to the current fashion system. We connect fashion, explicitly and honestly, with the social questions and challenges of our time. Our central question is: how can fashion and textiles contribute to a better world?
Help make the State of Fashion Biennale 2026 in Arnhem a success
As a volunteer, you will play an important role in:
– Box office: staffing an information and ticketing point;
– Exhibition host: welcoming visitors and helping them find their way around the Eusebiuskerk, the main venue of the exhibition;
– Events host: providing support during talks, workshops and other activities;
– Team leader (voluntary allowance): you will be the point of contact for the 6–7 volunteers present in the Eusebiuskerk during your shift.
Who are you?
– You are enthusiastic, presentable and proactive;
– You are at least 18 years old and have a command of Dutch and/or English (minimum A2 level);
– Knowledge of fashion is not required, but we do expect you to familiarise yourself with the story that State of Fashion and the curators wish to tell: the importance of breaking with the current, unsustainable fashion system and the invitation to look at fashion in a different way;
– You are available for a minimum of 5 days between 14 May and 28 June 2026; these may also be 10 half-days.

– You will become part of a large group of enthusiastic volunteers, supported by a volunteer coordinator and team leaders;
– We will organise an information session beforehand so that you can get started feeling well-informed and inspired;

– You can choose your own shifts via our online rota system;
– During your shift, we will provide lunch, coffee and tea;
– Before the official opening, we will organise an exclusive preview for volunteers!
At the end of the Biennale, we will celebrate together at a get-together to thank all volunteers.
