We are immensely happy and proud to share that the Culture Council (Raad voor Cultuur) has recommended that State of Fashion should once again be included in the national Basic Infrastructure (BIS) for 2025-2028.
The Culture Council states; “State of Fashion is the only major fashion platform in the Netherlands. It has a clear vision and wants to use the power of fashion to contribute to social awareness and to make the world a better and more inclusive place. State of Fashion is critical of the fashion system: the fashion industry and its users. It aligns with a global consensus that the current production of clothing is morally, ecologically and economically unsustainable.”
“Judging from the programming listed in the activity plan for the coming years, the leading reputation of the curators and the solid and extensive network of platform partners, the council is confident about the coherence, innovation and artistic quality of the upcoming biennales.”
