Taskforce Fashion is a unique, multidisciplinary and research-based partnership of FASHIONCLASH, M-ODE and State of Fashion, commissioned by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie. In co-creation with Dutch design talent and in dialogue with the (inter)national fashion field as well as other disciplines, the three platforms explore the transformative role of fashion in relation to social issues and a sustainable vision of the future through a variety of activities.
Several experiments and residencies took place from 2017 to 2021.
Meet the teams
Team Tilburg
Team Tilburg explored how fashion can be a tool for social intervention. By expanding the concept of fashion beyond clothing, with an emphasis on personal style and identity, a community project was realized in collaboration with the people of the neighborhood.
Team Rotterdam
Team Rotterdam proposed a set of tools that encourage new conversations with residents of all ages and backgrounds. Using fashion and identity as their basis, the designers sought common ground and connections between old residents and newcomers.
Team Maastricht
Team Maastricht provided a day of workshops with the children of the “Manjefiek Malberg school. Through a series of fashion-related workshops, the designers encouraged children to talk about their emotions in a fun and playful way.
