Reflections #1: Carmen Hogg

On 28 October, we organised the first online streaming event Whataboutery #1 ‘Regenerative fashion: There can be no Other’.

Guests from around the world participated in the discussion on the decolonisation of fashion moderated by Stephanie Afrifa. Under the umbrella of our partner Culture.Fashion, connections were made between Dutch organisations dealing with the same themes.

Within this network, State of Fashion joined hands with FashionClash, Mafb/OSCAM and M-ODE for the first Whataboutery.

As a result, Culture.Fashion invited creatives Giorgio Topping, Amber Jae Slooten and Princess Isatu Hassan Bangura to join the discussion and asked style anthropologist, creative producer and writer Carmen Hogg to reflect on this first Whataboutery.
