ONsite: Ghana
Ti Palli Ŋuni* (We make it again)
For ONsite Ghana, the project turns to Kantamanto Market in Accra, one of the world’s largest second-hand clothing markets and a key site within the global fashion system. Here, garments discarded elsewhere are sorted, repaired and recirculated by the expertise of traders, tailors and carriers working within the market’s dense informal economy.
Responding to the Transform pillar, the project highlights practices of reuse, adaptation and repair as active forces of change. The research also culminated in a live event within the market in Accra. The project invites audiences to see Kantamanto not as an endpoint of fashion’s waste, but as a living system of circularity, creativity and repair.

ONsite
ONsite builds on the international collaborations initiated in the previous Biennale, expanding them into three new research-based trajectories that examine specific sites within the global fashion supply chain.
Co-developed with local interlocutors, each ONsite acts as a situated research site for a designated resident, who studies the field from both within and outside. Together, they connect regional practices with critical inquiry while tracing how fashion’s systems operate, adapt, and transform worldwide.
A representation of the ONsite Ghana is on display in the Eusebiuskerk during the run of the Biennale in Arnhem.
