Anouchka van Driel (she/he) is an independent curator, project manager and editor, currently based in the Netherlands. Her work moves effortlessly between the worlds of design, fashion, architecture and fine art, driven by a transdisciplinary approach and a strong sense of context and place. With nearly two decades of experience in China, she realizes exhibitions, events and multimedia projects that encourage cultural exchange and create space for different creative practices.

Her work explores culture as a reflection of social and economic structures, often taking shape outside conventional formats to engage with pressing contemporary questions. Working collaboratively, she values collective processes that challenge dominant narratives and open both physical and digital space for alternative perspectives and imaginaries.

Recent projects include Plugin Architecture (2021–ongoing), a forthcoming publication with Thames & Hudson; Weaving Care (2024), a permanent exhibition on intangible cultural heritage in rural Anhui; Blueprint Beijing (2022–2023), the architecture section of the Beijing Biennale; The Planetarian (2022), the main exhibition at Beijing Design Week; and Wearing in Common (2021), a presentation on the social turn in fashion shown at Design Society in Shenzhen.

She holds a BA in Fashion Design from ArtEZ and an MA in Visual Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2021, she was awarded the M+ / Design Trust Research Fellowship to explore the influence of technology on fashion design in mainland China through a cosmotechnical lens.
